OUR STORY
On 26th January 2018, my friend and colleague Kevin took early retirement, aged 60.
His family had bought a static caravan by the beach and planned to travel, cycle and fish.
However, 3 months after retiring, an MRI scan revealed he had a brain tumour.
Kev underwent surgery, but the cancer had already spread throughout his body.
He passed away on 3rd November 2019.
This got me, Andy, aged 44, questioning what the real purpose of life was?
Kev had served 19 years in the British army, protecting our rights to live decent lives,
and 25 years in the private sector, protecting peoples' safety at work.
So, what possible reason was there for such a good, kind, honourable, hard-working
family man to die so early?
The fact is that LIFE ISN'T FAIR and none of us have a clue when our time's up.
So, I thought about my own 'LIFE-TIME' and what I truly wanted to do with the rest of my life.

After some serious soul searching, and reflection on my life and career so far,
I realised the times I’d been happiest were when I’d coached people in training sessions,
as I enjoyed helping others do well.
It’s said that:
’if you earn money doing what you love, work becomes a hobby you get paid for’.
This got me thinking how my life would've been if I’d known when I was 20 what I knew at 44.
What if I’d learned and understood how real life works?
What if I’d been more intentional with my 'LIFE-CHOICES'?
What if I'd created a 'Life-VISION' and 'Life-PLAN' for myself, rather than just drifting around?
What if someone had helped me understand how precious my 'Life-TIME' is?
What if someone had taught me how to make 'SAVVY LIFE DECISIONS'?
And that's when I had my ‘LIGHT BULB MOMENT’.
I had years of real life experience, and a teaching qualification,
so quit my job, set up SAVVY LIFE, designed a 'REAL LIFE EDUCATION' programme
and now help others 'GET AHEAD IN LIFE'.
